General Guidelines
Send us your best work, of course. But send us your best work befitting the spirit of dislocate. Tear us out of our cushiony comfort zones. Ignore “no trespassing” signs; push the limits of form, genre, and subject matter. Dissolve extant boundaries and suggest new ones. Make us question our beliefs about what writing can and cannot do. Give us a little pain with our pleasure. Don't confuse us. Enthrall us, engage us, surprise us. Be innovative and experimental with your ideas, form, and process. In short, blow our minds.
Our print journal reading period will run this year from July 15 to November 15, 2010.

Your very best, in 300 words or fewer, of poetry, fiction, or nonfiction. The winner will be published on dislocate.org and considered for publication in the next print issue of dislocate.
Please send only one submission at a time. Submissions should be previously unpublished. Simultaneous submissions are fine; just let us know ASAP if you need to withdraw your piece. See dislocate.org for complete contest details.

(doc, docx, txt, rtf)dislocate is always looking for excellent writing to publish on our website. Book reviews, interviews, profiles, essays, and articles of all sorts are welcome as long as they're well crafted and thought-provoking.
Submit a query with links to previous work, if available; otherwise send your piece in its entirety. If you are sending us simultaneous submissions or previously published work, please let us know in your cover letter.
At this time we do not publish fiction or poetry on the website, except as part of the Monthly Short-Form Contest or as excerpts from our print journal. Please do not send fiction or poetry through Website submissions.
